Information and services for schools

The bike is an excellent means of transport:
it is cheap and environmentally friendly, uses no power (except human), promotes health and makes no noise.
Bike riders know well that the mental attitude plays an important role in biking, especially when the exercise due to the difficulties met and the effort required becomes fatigue and when the obstacles encountered become ordeal, and all this of course threatens the positive outcome of a bike ride. Therefore, all our AlmaBike excursions dedicated to schools only have a playful and community-creating character. It is not about the measurement of physical force or power. We leave that to the competitors. We do not only tend but guarantee that the "use" of your group members' physical strength during our tours is carried out spontaneously, and moments of physical exertion and difficulty which are of course typical for all kinds of sports will be met playfully and with ease, and thus will even appear as what they are: a normal part of life. All our tour suggestions for schools have one goal in common: to healthily enjoy bike riding in the fresh air in the company of others without having to measure forces with each other. Our goal is to make the bicycle as a great means of transport more attractive to young people, and to convey the feeling that cycling is both wonderful and healthy.

The AlmaBike school proposals revolve around a fundamental concept: have fun and learn in safety and security.
Each of our tour proposals and thus each of our tracks is provided with stimuli from both culture and nature, as our group leaders and/or other employees will be more than happy to point out the tour's natural and cultural aspects to the participants. The staff AlmaBike relies on may be either official tourist guides, nature guides or Alpine guides who are all well trained and specialized for their task. In this way we make sure that each excursion is characterized by a high degree of professionalism in order to guarantee maximum safety and security in every moment of the excursion. All trips are simple and suitable for everyone! Due to the lack of height differences we guarantee a pleasant and rewarding ride.

AlmaBike is open to all your needs and concerns. This allows us to tailor an excursion to the specific needs and/or interests of each group.
With AlmaBike it is either possible to have an easy half-day trip or a multi-day all-inclusive excursion with meals, accommodation, transfers, all-round insurance, bike hire etc.

In order to guarantee maximum safety we have a minimum number of tour escorts/group carers depending on the size of the group but not depending on the participants' age or physical fitness. This minimum number of caregivers allows us to always control the group and to immediately intervene and help in case of breakdown (or the like) without causing a slowdown of the whole group. And above all, we can always and at any point assess how our protégés are physically doing.

Each tour of course includes breaks and pauses to relax and to be together as a group even when off the saddle. The way back on our trips can be done by bicycle but also by bus if for example bad weather or special needs of the group should make it necessary. The transfer by bus includes the transfer of the bikes (with a trailer). If ever a part of one of our tours should be on a street used by cars we will by official request of a preliminary traffic barrier at the local police station ensure that during the use by the group there will not be any cars on the road. The details of our chosen routes (satellite maps, difference and change of altitude, stops to recover with water supply etc.) are attached hereto. AlmaBike provides a van with 9 seats (and with a trailer for the bikes), which can be used in exceptional circumstances and/or for internal transfers of teachers, for the transport of materials or lunch boxes etc. On request AlmaBike organizes packed lunch or will have it prepared by one of the AlmaBike partners the group will pass on the trip. On each of our trips it is possible to include some complementary activities. These have been selected by us in order to emphasize the playful and educational aspect of the trip. We are happy to point out that it is possible for a maximum of two teachers to test your envisaged route with one of our ALMA BIKE guides before the tour.

IN CASE OF RAIN: for all proposals in the province of Verona we will transfer the group to an artificial, covered structure designed for mountaineers. There the young people can acquire mountain climbing techniques in complete safety and security under the constant care and protection of a specialized staff.
